On March 25, 2012 Chicago Fashion and Arts for Humanity joined Imerman Angels as volunteers at the 2012 Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle, which is an 8k run that benefits many organizations here in Chicago including American Cancer Society, Road Scholars, Have Dreams, and American Red Cross among others. What were our volunteer obligation duties you may be wondering? We had one of the most fun, and at times, crazy jobs there: running the beer tent during the post party.
I tweeted, ” I’ve never been around so much beer in my life!”; the beer was flowing like crazy! The excited runners were eager to relax with their friends, family, and fellow runners after the race on what was a beautiful morning/afternoon. They were so eager, as a matter of fact, that our tent ran out of beer, a whole entire truck load of kegs, gone. And the runners were not happy about that ( especially after a few drinks). But, everyone, including the runners, remained optimistic because all of the fun and thrilling chaos were for a variety of great causes.
Here are a few pictures from the 2012 Shamrock Shuffle below ( which was the largest 8k in the world). We had such a blast hanging out with friends, new friends, and old friends. We always meet the most interesting people whenever CFAH volunteer. Again, thank you to Eric from Imerman Angels for allowing us to be a part of this amazing event.
