If you keep telling yourself, ” I’m going to volunteer at something, one of these days”, this may be that ” something”. Chicago Fashion and Arts for Humanity (CFAH) will be joining Imerman Angels to volunteer at the Bank of America’s 2012 Shamrock Shuffle 8k. This popular marathon benefits many charities, and is a great way to assist organizations who consistently place the needs of others at the forefront of their missions.
Please join Chicago Fashion and Arts for Humanity as we assist the Imerman Angels at the race. What will we be doing your asking? We whelp run food serving and the beer tent at the after party. Must be 21 to volunteer.
“The Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle 8K Post-Race Party will be held at Buckingham Fountain in Grant Park (Columbus Dr. and Congress Pkwy.) immediately following the race from 9:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. The Post-Race Party will feature live musical entertainment by Mike and Joe from 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Michelob ULTRA* will be available to purchase at the Post-Race Party. Click here for more information on volunteering with the Imerman Angels at the race.
So, there it is! Here’s your chance to support the runners and support the hard work of our dear local and national organizations! It doesn’t cost you anything, but a little time.Visit the Shamrock Shuffle website for more information and pictures, or contact Renita Manley-Garrett at revampedimageconsulting@gmail.com.
We hope to see you on March 25th at the 2012 Bank of America Shamrock Shuffle!
Many thank you’s to Eric and Hannah from Immerman Angels for allowing Chicago Fashion and Arts for Humanity be a part of their efforts with the Shamrock Shuffle.
About Imerman Angels:
“Imerman Angels carefully matches and individually pairs a person touched by cancer (a cancer fighter or survivor) with someone who has fought and survived the same type of cancer (a Mentor Angel). Cancer caregivers (spouses, parents, children and other family and friends of fighters) also receive 1-on-1 connections with other caregivers and survivors. These 1-on-1 relationships inspire hope and offer the chance to ask personal questions and receive support from someone who is uniquely familiar with the experience. The service is absolutely free and helps anyone touched by any type of cancer, at any cancer stage level, at any age, living anywhere in the world.
Imerman Angels is a federally registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.”
